Great list. Another would be No Time on Our Side by Roger Chapman. Not a diving book as such but the story of the rescue of Chapman and his colleague from the Vickers Pisces lll submersible in 1973 off the coast of Ireland. I think it still holds the record as the deepest sub rescue ever. Book long out of print but lots on abe books and Amazon.

After being an original listener to the grey nato shadow divers was certainly not a new discovery but i Finally decided to crack it open. I couldnt put the book down except when my job or eyelids took the better of me :) Incredible nail biting anxiety inducing thriller ride...on to depth charge !

Jason,

Another great piece!

How about a war adventure shelf with “Ill met by moonlight,” “Love and War in the Apennines,” “Goodbye Darkness,” and “The Boarding Party.”

All great stories well written that capture parts of WWII rarely discussed.

Clearly there are tons out there.

Cheers

Sea Dwellers by Bob Barth would be a good addition to your list. The story is told all in his words, been there done that. Also ordered your book can't wait to read it.

Great recommendations! It is for articles like these that the subscription is completely worthwhile. After the first pages, Depth Charge is already earning its spot on the bookshelf ;)
