Figuring out how to do something like this might be the next big project I try to tackle with the family. Maybe find an old 60s or 70s Airstream and get it into fighting shape?

Such a fun read- Congrats on the new Defender, and on launching the #submechanophilia gear!

I briefly took a look at those Scamp campers, too. They look really nice and cozy. Pretty cool that they're built here in the Twin Cities, too.

Congrats on the new (to you) Land Rover. It looks to be in pretty fine shape and converting it into a camper was a great idea.

Jason,

Another brilliant piece of writing. Thank you.

Just FYI: owning any British vintage motorcar is going to be an adventure. Trust me, I speak from experience. I own a 77 MGB along with my far more dependable '97 Jeep Cherokee. I am most jealous because I've always wanted a LR (Series II, III or Defender), but never could find the right one at the right time (the right time meaning when I had any money in my pocket).

Safe travels.

I'm a 4Runner guy (a modern day vintage vehicle in it's own right) but I'm loving all the Land Rover/Jeep/Pajero talk on TGN and I'm looking forward to more Defender Diaries here on Substack.

Great Story, and bonus points for finding the ‚ß’ and spelling ‘Großglockner‘ correctly - my Austrian heart sings!
