This is great stuff and is inspiring to me to get outside more often next winter. If you have not yet seen it, check out Netflix film, "Hold Your Breath, The Ice Dive" about a Finnish female free-diver trying to set the ice diving record. There is something about the cold...
I got back into diving last summer in the Puget Sound area, even without a drysuit at this point, and I fully encourage people to try to dive their backyard if possible
"If you complain about the cold or wait for perfect weather to go outside, you’re probably better suited for someplace several hundred miles south."
It me. Yet, here I am in MN. lol.
Great adventure-sharing for the rest of us!

Great write-up Jason, it sounds simultaneously rotten and wonderful.
Inspirational and so true about winter…
Did you take many photos while underwater? Would love to see a photo dump post, here or on Instagram!
Is the ice diving training particularly intensive? Or is it similar to any other PADI/NAUI training? I definitely would like to do it once or twice.
Excellent watch choice for the dive, how did the white dial Seamaster do under the water?
Cheers!
