Those two words, “Writer’s block,” sat at the top of of this page with a cursor flashing beneath, mocking me, for two days this week. I’d sit and stare at them for minutes at a time, my fingers poised over the keyboard until something else, anything else, more pressing came along. Oh look, an email with a new Depth Charge book order! Better make a shipping label, sign a book and, what the heck, jump on my bike to go take the package to a FedEx drop box. Then another email pings me, indicating that a freelance invoice got paid. Time to jump into my accounting software and update the financials. Might as well pay the bills while I’m in there. Oh, and on Tuesdays, we record The Grey NATO podcast, with a bit of prep ahead of that. Throw in a doctor’s appointment one day and I’ve successfully avoided facing the blank page for half the week.
