I bought a new watch recently. Well, actually it’s an old watch, but new to me. It wasn’t the culmination of a long quest, or one I thoroughly researched. In fact, it was almost an impulse buy, if I’m honest, bought purely for aesthetic reasons and perhaps a twinge of nostalgia. And that made it all the more fun, a bit like the old days before I got jaded and too knowledgable or snobby about watches. That’s not to say it’s an inferior watch in any way, or undesirable. It is a TAG Heuer Super Professional, a diving watch that TAG sold from the mid-1980s until the late ‘90s. I’ve had it for about three weeks and I can’t seem to take it off my wrist.
