As I’m nearing the release date for Sweetwater, there are a dozen moving parts to coordinate, and I thought it might be interesting to give a peek into how this book, that I hope many of you will eventually read, takes shape. Fortunately, I’ve been here before, with Depth Charge, so I know what to expect and what it takes to launch a novel into the world. There are countless resources online with tips on writing, and self-publishing, a book—trust me, I’ve looked at a lot of them. They walk through everything from reserving an ISBN, to cover design, to how to market the book. It’s a lot to soak in, but I developed my own system that I think has worked for me. I don’t intend this post to be a “DIY how-to” for aspiring authors, but merely a peek behind the curtain for those who are interested.
