None have done it better I might say. It takes a unique talent and creativity to both do the dive and do the writing. Doesn't hurt to have a talented spouse at your side! Dad
Hello Jason, please don't stop doing underwater watch reviews. Although there are more people trying it nowadays they simply aren't anything like yours, I find myself reading your older more obscure watch/diving stories even when I'm not even interested in the timepiece! I understand not everything you write can be a diving story/review but I absolutely savor them when they come up, thanks.
If you were skimming the article, look again. There are some golden nugget photo composition pointers there that are as applicable on dry land as underwater. Oh, and the stick-thing-as-camera-carrier? Been there, albeit it was a ski pole.😉
This has dredged up some old memories and aspirations.
Back when I was doing freelance writing, editing and photography, I always told people my dream gig would be writing for Gear Patrol. I remember seeing some of the work you and Gishani did and thinking it seemed like the coolest writing job around.
After I moved abroad, I eventually fell out of GP’s readership and switched careers entirely. Only a few years ago, when a friend put me onto the TGN podcast did I rediscover your work and only after retreading some of your old GP articles did I realize it’s the same Jason! Go figure.

Perhaps my favorite piece you’ve written. Awesome stuff.
You and Gishani make an awesome team!
